Our Story
It all began when Rick Sr. decided to buy and build customized boats (AKA Storm Boats) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He encouraged Rick Jr. to "quickly" learn skills on fiberglassing, painting and installation of boat components to help with the business, even though Rick Jr. was a well known tournament fisherman on Lake Okeechobee.
Later on, Hurricane Wilma blew the roof off the original building and Rick Sr. decided to move the business to Attapulgus Georgia on 202 E Griffin Ave. After several years of success Rick Sr. passes away and the business was handed down to Rick Jr.
After sometime, in 2021, Rick Jr. sold R&R Boat Repair to Norm, and kept the online side of the business as well as a warehouse which was called "Marine Carpeting" and moved it to its current location on 210 N Main St Attapulgus GA. Where it is still going strong to this day!
On January 5th 2025, Rick Jr. retired and sold the business to its current owner Richard R. Britt IV. Shane (Rick Jr. son) and Bruce (a long time worker) are still continuing to work at the company, as well as new employee Thaddaeus. These men are wanting to grow and show the world who Marine Carpeting is with the slogan "Smooth Sailing Starts Here" keeping loyality and honesty to their customers and future customers!
Our Carpets
We sell premium marine grade carpet in various thicknesses in a variety of colors. Our most popular colors are Medium Gray and Charcoal from our inhouse carpet collection! We also are sellers of sparta carpets, corinthian-textiles and doorset. If a customer can't decide on what color or type of carpet they want for their purchase we ask all customers to please request samples and we will happily send them to make sure our customer is satified and happy with their product!
Our Vinyl Selections
We have a lot of excellent vinyls to choose from in our collection! We are sellers of Infinity and their woven vinyl collection which has several series to choose from each with their own style and colors. Our in house vinyl is a 7mm thick Nautolex vinyl served in a variety of colors easily found on our website! With our Corinthian-Textiles selections we have two types, cuts of variour lengths and snap in vinyls. Snap in are prepared in a process that fits every boat indivually, while the others are just simples cuts at 8.5' wide by various lengths. Our last selection is from Marideck, which come in a variety of colors and has thickness of 34 mil & 80 mil depending on the selection you choose.
